Sentimental Archives

“Sentimental Archives” is on-going artistic research that explores with autoethnography, spatial narratives, Augmented Reality, geolocation, mapping, archiving processes to contemplate on the materiality and sensibility of archives as intimate narratives and data infrastructures. The process follows an investigation personal archive of postal letters and journal of my deceased father who worked as a seafarer during the 1970s and 1980s in cargo ships. Therefor, the “"personal” here then connects to the network of maritime infrastructures, port cities, and shipping routes.

A video art essay serves as a reflection of the process on contemplating about the relationships between personal memories and data infrastructures. The production shows the 3D models and AR installation held in certain locations in Rotterdam.
